Structured Literacy Intervention

Every child learns differently. That's why we don't believe in one-size-fits-all tutoring.

Following a comprehensive literacy assessment, we develop an individualized intervention plan that targets your child's specific skill gaps using explicit, systematic instruction grounded in the Science of Reading. Every lesson has a purpose, every goal is intentional, and every step is designed to build confident, capable readers and writers.

Price per Session: $100.00

About The Literacy Collective

What Makes Our Intervention Different?

Unlike traditional tutoring, every intervention plan is:

✓ Designed by a Speech-Language Pathologist and Literacy Specialist

✓ Individualized to your child's assessment results

✓ Delivered one-on-one by a highly trained teacher in your home

✓ Progress monitored and adjusted throughout intervention

✓ Grounded in evidence-informed literacy instruction

That is incredibly powerful and very different from a tutoring centre.

Depending on your child's needs, intervention may target:

  • Phonological and phonemic awareness
  • Phonics and decoding
  • Reading fluency
  • Reading comprehension
  • Spelling (encoding)
  • Written expression
  • Morphology
  • Vocabulary
  • Executive functioning strategies that support literacy

What does a literacy session look like?

Every session is individualized but may include:

  • Explicit teaching of a new literacy skill
  • Guided practice with immediate feedback
  • Reading connected text
  • Spelling and writing activities
  • Review of previously taught concepts to build automaticity
  • Home practice recommendations

We Come to You

Children often learn best in familiar environments where they feel comfortable and confident.

Our interventionists travel to your home, allowing your child to receive individualized literacy instruction without adding another commute to your family's schedule.

Carefully Selected. Carefully Trained.

Our interventionists are certified teachers who share our commitment to evidence-informed literacy instruction.

Every teacher receives mentorship, individualized lesson plans, ongoing support, and progress monitoring from Carly and Sarah to ensure every child receives consistent, high-quality instruction.

Literacy intervention may be appropriate if your child:

✓ Avoids reading

✓ Guesses at words

✓ Struggles with spelling

✓ Reads slowly or without confidence

✓ Finds writing frustrating

✓ Has difficulty remembering phonics rules

✓ Needs extra support despite classroom instruction

How do we measure progress?

We don't simply complete worksheets.

Throughout intervention we continually monitor your child's growth, adjust instruction based on their progress, and communicate with families to ensure every lesson moves them closer to their goals.

Ready to help your child become a confident reader?

The first step isn't more practice.

It's understanding why your child is struggling and building the right plan.
